The Tin Guide collects as little about you as possible. This page explains what we gather, why, and what choices you have. It is written in plain English on purpose.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand which articles are read and how people find us. These analytics are aggregated and do not identify you personally, set tracking cookies, or follow you across other websites.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address solely to send you that newsletter. Our email is handled by a third-party provider (Substack), subject to its own privacy policy. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we will delete your address from our active list.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link, the destination merchant may set its own cookies to attribute the referral. That activity is governed by the merchant’s privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your data. We don’t run third-party ad networks. We don’t build advertising profiles. We don’t need to — we’re funded by affiliate commissions and reader subscriptions, not surveillance.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the limited personal data we hold — principally your newsletter email. To make a request, contact us and we’ll act on it promptly.
